Minister denies Kazakhstan's talks on gas union with Russia

ASTANA, Dec 12 (PRIME) -- Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan are discussing technical capacities of their gas transportation systems, but there is no discussion of a gas union, Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said on Monday.

"In fact, the issue of establishment of a gas union was not discussed. All discussions were held in the framework of bilateral cooperation,” Akchulakov said.

“It was not discussed in a trilateral format, we discuss technical capacities of our systems, gas transportation and so on."

He added that cooperation requires a trilateral agreement.
